Are meningitis cases increasing?

Stating that there is no increase in meningococcal meningitis cases that can be called an 'epidemic', Child Health and Diseases Specialist Dr. Şirin Seçkin said, "The most common symptoms in children are extreme restlessness, fever, nausea, vomiting, headache, crying, neck stiffness, photophobia (inability to look at light), fatigue and tendency to sleep. Meningitis should not be ignored, it should be treated as soon as possible. There is a 10-20 percent chance that children may develop permanent neurological disorders; epilepsy is one of these."
