From Özgür Özel to Sırrı Süreyya Önder: We lost him at a time when we needed him the most

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel said the following regarding the death of Sırrı Süreyya Önder: "We lost a very important name at a time when he was needed so much, when we all needed him so much. We served together in the Parliament for years. We have not accumulated any bad memories until today. He has accumulated memories that bring a smile to each of our faces, a smile and very good feelings inside us. May he rest in peace, may he rest in peace. We will miss him so much."

Following the death of the Deputy Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and DEM Party Istanbul Deputy Sırrı Süreyya Önder, a funeral ceremony was held at the Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM).

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel made the following statement to the press members before the ceremony:

"Today is a painful day. We offer our condolences to both his family and the DEM Party family. We lost a very important name at a time when he was needed, when we all needed him very much. We served together in the Parliament for years. We have not accumulated any bad memories until today. He has accumulated memories that bring a smile to each of our faces, a smile and very good feelings inside us. May he rest in peace, may he rest in peace. We will miss him very much. In the process that follows, we must both remember him with the good memories he left in the past and together defend the peace he sincerely defended in Türkiye and together build a future where no one cries and everyone smiles in Türkiye."
