Be careful about your eye health when using false eyelashes! Their adhesives can cause allergies

Improper use may cause eye irritation.
Instructor Birgül Erbaş, who stated that false eyelashes and eyelash curlers are frequently used for more defined and impressive looks, said, “However, incorrect use of these products can harm eye health. False eyelash adhesives can cause allergies in some people. The strong chemicals in them can cause redness, itching and watery eyes. Hypoallergenic products should be preferred especially for sensitive skin and should be tried on a small area first.” Instructor Birgül Erbaş, who also stated that incorrectly used adhesives can cause eye irritation, infections and eyelash loss, said, “In addition, incorrect removal can cause natural eyelashes to break. The adhesive should only be applied to the eyelash line, not the inside of the eyelid.”

Eyelash curling tools are not innocent either!
Erbaş also warned about eyelash curling tools, saying, “Pressing too hard can cause the eyelashes to break. Using it on eyelashes with makeup can cause the mascara to harden and cause the eyelashes to break. Using it too close to the eyelid can cause skin compression and irritation. You can minimize the risk of damage by using your eyelash curler gently and on clean eyelashes.”

Sharing devices with others can lead to eye infections
Noting that mascara and dirt accumulated in eyelash curler breed bacteria, Lecturer Birgül Erbaş said, “Sharing the tool with others can lead to eye infections. It is important to change the rubber part regularly and wipe it after each use for hygiene reasons. The best method is to clean the surface of the curler by wiping it with an alcohol-soaked cotton. False eyelashes should be wiped with an oil-free makeup remover after each use and stored in their own box. Eyelash curlers should be wiped with an alcohol wipe once a week and the rubber part should be changed regularly.”

False eyelashes and curlers create a suitable environment for bacteria and fungi to grow.
Expressing that false eyelash adhesives and eyelash curlers can cause microbes to multiply, Lecturer Birgül Erbaş continued as follows: “False eyelashes and curlers that are not cleaned regularly create a suitable environment for bacteria and fungi to multiply. This can lead to eye infections, styes and irritation. Continuous use of false eyelashes can cause natural eyelashes to weaken, fall out and become thinner. Similarly, using an eyelash curler every day weakens the eyelash structure and can cause breakage.”

Protect your eye health!
Reminding that in order to protect eye health, hygiene rules should be observed when using false eyelashes and eyelash curlers, the right products should be chosen and regular eyelash care should be provided, Lecturer Birgül Erbaş concluded her words by saying, “You can have beautiful and voluminous eyelashes without risking your eye health.”
