Güner, who explained that the total number of radiology imaging in the health facilities serving in the city in the first 3 months of 2025 was 10 million 241 thousand 335 and 165 thousand 182 radiology imaging were performed daily, continued as follows:

"It is also seen that our examination capacity has increased despite a 4.1 percent increase compared to the previous period. It is understood that there will be 27 million 115 thousand 674 applications in 2025 and that there is a 27.4 percent increase compared to the same period last year, indicating greater demand for family medicine. In the first 3 months of 2025, 46,110 ward cancer screenings, 44,561 colorectal cancer screenings, and 20,532 breast cancer screenings were conducted. It is seen that there has been a 57 percent increase in cancer screenings compared to the same period last year."

"80 PERCENT OF OUR HEALTH FACILITIES HAVE BEEN MADE EARTHQUAKE RESISTANT"

Emphasizing that Istanbul is one of the cities facing the highest risk in a possible major earthquake, Güner said, "With this awareness, a total bed capacity of 14,224 was created in 25 health facilities with the projects implemented between 2016-2025 in Istanbul."

Provincial Health Director Güner stated that the new health facilities stand out not only with their increased capacity but also with their advanced technological equipment and disaster resistance, and shared the following:

"In this regard, the use of seismic isolators has been made mandatory in all our new hospitals with a capacity of over 100 beds. Thanks to the seismic isolators currently actively used in 8 of our hospitals, critical areas such as operating rooms, intensive care units and emergency services have been designed to provide uninterrupted service even during an earthquake. As a result of these investments, 80 percent of our health facilities in Istanbul have been made earthquake resistant." (AA) This content was published by Enes Çırtlık
