He forgot his wife of 45 years on the bus, his grandson recorded the panic: I'm going crazy

He forgot his wife of 45 years on the bus, his grandson recorded the panic: I'm going crazy

Living in the Emek Neighborhood of the Osmangazi district of Bursa, Hasan Akgül took his wife Saadet Akgül, who has diabetes and high blood pressure, to Bursa City Hospital for routine check-ups on April 25. The Akgül couple took their grandson Gürhan Akgül with them to help them. After the examination procedures were completed, the couple got on the municipal bus to return home with their grandchildren. The grandfather and grandson got off the bus when they arrived at the Emek stop. However, Saadet Akgül remained on the bus because she could not reach the door because of the crowd. When Hasan Akgül turned around and could not see his wife next to him, he panicked, while his grandson recorded the moment with his mobile phone camera. The conversation between Hasan Akgül and his grandson, who was walking back and forth on the street, was also reflected in the footage.

'OH MY GOD I'M GOING TO GO CRAZY'

It was heard that Hasan Akgül responded to Gürhan Akgül's question, "Where is my grandfather, my grandmother?" by saying, "For God's sake, don't do it, did he get off? Oh my God, I'm going crazy, I swear, I'm going crazy. Don't laugh, son, don't laugh." When Gürhan Akgül said, "Call, call him to get off," Hasan Akgül hit his head in panic and said, "Where is he going to get off, son? He won't get off anywhere. This car is going somewhere else."

The moments when Saadet Akgül got off the bus at the next stop and reunited with her husband were also included in the footage.

'WHEN HE LAUGHED, MY NERVES GOT ANGRY'

Hasan Akgül, who described his experiences, said, "We went to the City Hospital for a check-up. My wife has diabetes and high blood pressure. We had her checked. We got on the municipal bus from the City Hospital to go to Emek, Bursa. The bus was also very crowded. It was extremely crowded. I had taken my grandson with me to keep him company and help me while going to the hospital. We arrived at Emek just as it was very crowded, so we got off. My wife was stuck right in the middle. She couldn't get out because it was crowded. The car started moving at that moment. I said to my grandson, 'She went by car' and he laughed. As he laughed, my nerves and anger skyrocketed. While I was saying 'Don't do it, don't do it', I hit myself in the forehead like that. 'Son, don't do it, don't do it. Your grandmother doesn't know right from left. She won't be able to get off, she doesn't know the stops', I said. We called, we reached by phone. The next stop was Sanayi stop. I said, 'You wait there'. She got off at the stop, thank God. She got off at the next stop. I was also curious, because she didn't know. I looked across He was standing at the stop. I waved. He doesn't get on the elevator by himself. He has to have someone with him. I waved him over but he didn't get on the elevator. I went, got him, and brought him home; thank God," he said.

'I HAVE NEVER FORGOTTEN MY WIFE BEFORE'

Hasan Akgül said, "He made us experience such an adventure, thanks to his grandson. I didn't realize he was filming. He keeps laughing. I say, 'Son, don't laugh. Look, your grandmother is left in the car. She won't know where you went. Don't laugh, son.' He laughs to himself." Hasan Akgül, who said that he has forgetfulness from time to time but that this is the first time he has forgotten his wife, said, "I have forgetfulness too. I haven't forgotten my wife before, I forgot her here for the first time. We have been married for 45 years, we love each other. He tripped me up, he never does. He said, 'You left me, why aren't you paying attention. I thought you were going to come to me.' His resentment lasted for a while, but it passed. It came and went."
