Critical decision from the Council of State regarding Academics for Peace!

Critical decision from the Council of State regarding Academics for Peace!

The Council of State has made a critical "pilot" decision regarding Peace Academics, who were unable to return to their duties despite the Constitutional Court's "rights violation" decision.

The Academics for Peace, who signed the declaration "We will not be complicit in this crime," filed lawsuits with administrative courts, but the courts issued differing rulings. Some of the academics' applications to the administrative courts were accepted, and they were reinstated. However, some administrative courts rejected the academics' applications. It was highly anticipated what the Council of State would say regarding these conflicting administrative court decisions regarding the academics.

According to T24, the first decision on this matter came from the Fifth Chamber of the Council of State. The Chamber ruled that an academic from Akdeniz University, whose application had been rejected, be reinstated and that he be compensated for all lost rights. The decision was made by a vote of 4 to 1.
