A patient with a ruptured aorta in Rize was treated with the hybrid method

According to the statement made by the Provincial Health Directorate, it was decided that 28-year-old Ömer Faruk Karavin, who applied to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University Training and Research Hospital, would be treated with the hybrid method.
Karavin underwent surgery a while ago by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sedat Ozan Karakişi, Department of Cardiovascular Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, and his team.

🔹 AA Live for instant developmentsAssoc. Prof. Dr. Sedat Ozan Karakişi, whose views were included in the statement, stated that they detected an aortic tear due to a genetic connective tissue disorder in the patient.
Karakişi, who explained that they performed emergency intervention on the patient because he had an aortic tear, which is rare, apart from the standard A and B type tears, said, "We decided to apply a method that includes both open and closed surgery as the most appropriate method for the patient."
Karakişi, who pointed out that they constantly apply the hybrid method in the hospital, said, "This type of aortic rupture is seen in approximately 2 in a hundred thousand. Therefore, we applied this method for the first time in this disease group and thankfully, we completed it successfully."
Ömer Faruk Karavin, who regained his health after the surgery, stated that he learned that his aorta had ruptured when he applied to the hospital 10 days ago with complaints of chest pain.
Thanking the doctors, Karavin stated that his health is currently good.
The patient's father, Reşit Karavin, also thanked everyone who helped his son regain his health.
