A much talked about reference from Trabzonspor to Fenerbahçe

Trabzonspor made a much-talked-about post on social media on the anniversary of the match-fixing plot against Fenerbahçe.

“WE WILL BE SMILED AS LONG AS OUR CUP IS THERE”

The clip was shared with the note "We will repeat it every year, We will shout every July 3! Our sweat, our labor, our right..." and the phrase "Don't be happy as long as our cup is there."

Fenerbahçe also made a written statement drawing attention to the FETÖ structure. The statement said, “We declare that our fight against those who carry the traces of this structure will not end.”

WHAT HAPPENED?

On July 3, 2011, Fenerbahçe President Aziz Yıldırım and many figures from the world of football were detained on allegations of match-fixing and incentive bonuses.

During the process known as the “July 3 Operation,” it was alleged that Fenerbahçe engaged in match-fixing in some matches during the 2010-2011 season.

While UEFA banned Fenerbahçe from European cups, the Turkish Football Federation did not cancel the championship.

Trabzonspor front demanded that the cup be given to them on the grounds that Fenerbahçe, with whom they finished the season with the same points, engaged in match-fixing.

As a result of years of litigation, it was determined that elements affiliated with FETO were influential in the investigation in question, and the process was described as a "conspiracy" by Fenerbahçe.

Despite these developments, the championship debate between the two clubs still continues.
