The call for a strike launched by the Union of Pharmacists' Unions (USPO) was heard across France this Saturday, August 16. "It's really important for us to mark the occasion, to show our solidarity with others," said Soumaya Benamzal, assistant at the Wissembourg Central Pharmacy. "We support the movement 100%, we have real fears."

But the pharmacy located in the city center, like the Pharmacie de la Paix located a few meters away, took part in the movement in a somewhat unusual way: instead of closing outright, they only opened in the morning. "We split the difference to meet the needs of patients," she explains. "Especially since it's a long weekend." However, for the next mobilization scheduled for September 18, it is already planned that the Pharmacie centrale will be closed all day.

As a reminder, the government's planned reform calls for a reduction in discounts paid to pharmacies by laboratories. This reduced revenue stream, which, according to Soumaya Benamzal, risks "directly threatening pharmacy teams." And even the establishments themselves.
