Health. Closure of cancer screening centers in Lorraine: a cost-saving measure

In July, one after the other, the Cancer Screening Centers in the Vosges and Meuse regions learned of their imminent closure. In Épinal, where operations are expected to cease in October, six employees, including a doctor, are threatened with dismissal . In Bar-le-Duc, there are already only two left, a doctor and a secretary, with the rest of the staff having been redeployed . In a letter addressed to Vosges MP Christophe Naegelen at the end of July, the latter reiterated that "guaranteeing access to prevention and screening for all" remains an "absolute priority of the ministry."
