Unbelievable post from Samet Özgül's murderer: Lion of Allah!
Working as a motorcycle courier in Ankara to earn his pocket money, university student Samet Özgül was beaten and stabbed to death by 3 people with whom he had an argument in traffic on November 5, 2022. A photo of Özgül's murderer, Halil İbrahim Demirci, taken in prison was shared. The photo shared by his relatives was captioned, "These punishments will not be imposed on us. God's lion, Maşallah."
Gazi University History Department student and motorcycle courier Samet Özgül was beaten and stabbed in the throat by 3 people with whom he had an argument while riding a motorcycle in Ankara's Etlik district on the night of November 5, 2022. Seriously injured, Özgül died in the hospital to which he was taken.
The verdict in the Samet Özgül case was given on September 27, 2023; Ankara 11th High Criminal Court sentenced the defendant Halil İbrahim Demirci to life imprisonment, and Mustafa Demirci, the father of Halil İbrahim Demirci, and Bülent Açıkgöz, the friend of Mustafa Demirci, who crashed his car in front of the motorcycle used by Özgül, to 12 years in prison each for “aiding in the deliberate killing”.
The Ankara Regional Court of Justice 1st Criminal Chamber accepted some objections to the decision of the Ankara 11th High Criminal Court and ordered a retrial.
The Court of Appeal had decided to appoint an expert witness and retry the case after examining the footage of the motorcycle courier Samet Özgül Murder Case.
