The team led by Chinese surgeon Prof. Dr. Rong Liu operated on two patients in Beijing using satellite and robotic surgery technology from Lhasa, 5,000 kilometers away.

While there is a distance limit in traditional 5G-supported surgical systems, it was reported that delays were minimized by activating the 'Apstar-6D' satellite in this operation.

It was stated that doctors led by Professor Rong Liu treated two patients with liver cancer and hemangioma with operations that lasted approximately 124 minutes, and thanks to the new generation connection systems, data flow was provided uninterrupted during the surgery and operations could be performed with high precision.

The statement also shared that there were no serious complications after the surgery and the patients were discharged within 24 hours.
