CHP's presidential candidate and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is detained in Marmara Prison, made statements on his social media account.

İmamoğlu said, "Your concern is Istanbul's profit. When Istanbul's resources started to be used not by a handful of people but by all Istanbulites, your comfort was disturbed."

İmamoğlu continued as follows:

"In short, you want to paralyze the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, render it inoperable, and take revenge on the people of Istanbul," said İmamoğlu, adding, "You have come up with a clever plan. You have forgotten this, dear villains; the people of Istanbul will stand together and strong in the most difficult times and will upset these sneaky plans of yours. You think you are very clever, but you have forgotten this; we are millions, and you are a handful."

You want no one to find a job through employment offices, you want the bills of those in need to not be paid with Pending Invoices, you want the Golden Horn to be polluted again and Kurbağalıdere to turn into a swamp again, you want the Istanbul Bus Terminal to turn into a dump again. You want Halk Ekmek to be unable to produce bread for the low-income. You want the support given to retirees to end, the nutrition support given to children to be cut, the education support given to orphans and children of our martyrs and veterans to end. You want the heirlooms of our ancestors to rot, be destroyed and then be given away to someone. You want the most beautiful parts of the city not to have cultural, artistic and event areas built, and for our people not to benefit from them for free. You want recruitment to be done through favoritism as before, only certain people to be hired, you want the end of merit in the IMM, women's employment to not increase, the Institute Istanbul İSMEK's and technology workshops to be closed, and new sports facilities not to be built.
