Lecturer Hatice Nurseda Hatunoğlu noted that home-cooked meals offer significant advantages in terms of healthy eating, adding, “Firstly, casserole dishes are generally prepared with fresh, unprocessed ingredients. This helps preserve the nutritional value of the food. Vegetables, meat, and whole grains are the key ingredients in home-cooked meals, providing the body with essential vitamins, minerals, and fiber. This helps the digestive system function properly, strengthens the immune system, and improves overall health.”
Oil and salt control possible
Hatunoğlu also stated that one of the biggest advantages of cooking at home is the complete control over the ingredients, saying, "The amount of salt, oil, and sugar used in the kitchen can be adjusted, which plays a significant role in managing conditions like hypertension, heart disease, and diabetes. For example, it's possible to reduce the amount of oil in home-cooked meals and use natural spices instead of salt. This makes meals healthier."
