Artists call for democracy!

Following the appointment of a trustee to the CHP Istanbul Provincial Headquarters by court order and the blockade of the provincial building by the police, artists called for democracy.

In the joint statement made by Sanat Fabrika, the emphasis on democracy and freedom came to the fore:

"There is no salvation alone; it's either all together or none of us! We cannot speak of democratic and free art in a country without democracy. We do not accept oppressive and anti-democratic practices, and we call on all art workers to speak out against these attacks!"

Sanat Fabrika viewed the ongoing process not solely as a political party issue, but as a matter of social democracy. The statement emphasized that free art is a fundamental condition of a democratic country and called for solidarity among all citizens, especially those working in the arts.
