Padilha decides not to go to the US after Trump imposes restrictions: 'Unacceptable conditions'

Health Minister Alexandre Padilha (Workers' Party) confirmed on Friday the 19th that he will not travel to the United States next week, when the UN General Assembly will be held in New York. He called the travel restrictions imposed by Donald Trump 's administration when issuing his visa "unacceptable."
The United States limited Padilha's movement to the area of his accommodation, as well as routes between the hotel and UN headquarters, Brazil's mission to the organization, and the residence of the Brazilian representative to the organization.
Padilha stated, in an interview with GloboNews, that the restrictions also prevent him from participating in the general assembly of the Pan American Health Organization, in Washington, and in meetings with other health ministers.
“ The conditions are unacceptable. "I am the Minister of Health, and I must be fully able to participate in the activities to which we have been invited," said the Workers' Party member. "The restrictions make it impossible for the Minister of Health to attend the activities he should be participating in."
In August, Donald Trump's government announced the cancellation of the visas of Padilha and the minister's ten-year-old daughter, in a new offensive against Brazilian authorities associated with the Mais Médicos program.
Since July, the White House has adopted sanctions against Brazilian officials and their families, including Supreme Court justices such as Alexandre de Moraes .
