A new National Health Fund (NFZ) screening package has launched, the "My Health" preventive program. After completing a questionnaire and undergoing a diagnostic testing package, patients will meet with either a doctor or a nurse who will analyze their results.
On May 1, a new preventive program, "My Health," was introduced. It is aimed at patients aged 20 and over and will cover heart disease, cancer, mental health, addiction, lifestyle, and vaccinations.
At the beginning, the patient will be surveyed by:
- doctor,
- nurse,
- primary care midwife,
- prevention
It will also be possible to complete it independently via the Patient's Online Account, and it is intended to be an in-depth interview regarding:
- lifestyle,
- risk factors for cardiovascular diseases,
- oncological diseases, taking into account family history,
- mental health,
- will also include a community interview.
Once approved, such a questionnaire will be the basis for generating an order for tests under the "My Health" program.
Research included in the package:
- blood count,
- blood glucose levels,
- blood creatinine level, along with estimated eGFR (renal parameter),
- lipid profile including total cholesterol,
- LDL,
- HDL,
- triglycerides,
- thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH - detects thyroid dysfunction).
Extended testing will be ordered depending on age and survey results.
What extended tests can be covered by the National Health Fund from May 1?
- alanine aminotransferase (ALAT),
- aspartate aminotransferase (ASPAT),
- gammaglutamyltranspeptidase (GGTP),
- Total PSA (an indicator of prostate enlargement) in men,
- anti-HCV (hepatitis C virus),
- lipoprotein A - performed as part of a once-in-a-lifetime assessment between the ages of 20 and 40 (assessment of the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases).
The follow-up visit will take place in the doctor's or nurse's office after the patient has provided the laboratory test results.
Consequently, this means that nurses/midwives can order the entire package of laboratory tests assigned to the "My Health" program.
