Just yesterday, Governor Maru Campos reported that efforts to prevent the spread of measles have been strengthened, with the doubling of personnel on the inoculation and vaccine brigades, which are delivered directly to the state's agricultural fields.

He detailed that more than 300,000 doses of the virus have been administered so far in the state , that ongoing vaccination campaigns are being held, and that through MediChihuahua, there are sufficient vaccines available to protect the population throughout the state.

The president indicated that in order to guarantee, in addition to nutrition, the health of the state's day laborers, as well as that of their families, she is working in coordination with municipal authorities and the Ministries of National Defense, Health, and Labor.

"We've already reached agricultural areas in Juárez, Cuauhtémoc, Ojinaga, and the entire south-central region, but for this strategy to work, we need you. Get vaccinated," emphasized Maru Campos.

Case detected in Guanajuato

The head of the Guanajuato Health Secretariat (SSG), Gabriel Cortés Alcalá, reported that A new case of measles was reported in León, Guanajuato, bringing the total number of minors detected this year to three. .

On July 15, 2025, the disease was confirmed in a 2-year-old girl who is a beneficiary of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) in the city of León.

The official explained that the latter case involved a girl from the city of León, and her vaccination schedule was incomplete because she was missing a dose .

"This third case was declared positive by the Federation just yesterday, although we had already taken epidemiological measures since it was reported," said Dr. Cortés.

He stated that they became aware of the patient's symptoms on the 4th of this month and took appropriate measures. He said the child's progress has been favorable and she is currently at home.

He explained that they set up Epidemiological Centers in the southern part of the city, where the girl lives. At these centers, residents' vaccination records are reviewed to ensure they are complete.

The secretary recalled that 30 years had passed without any cases of measles being recorded in this entity .

He emphasized that vaccination campaigns are ongoing; 200,000 doses have been administered during this activity, with an additional 200,000 pending.

On the other hand, the death of an 8-year-old boy from chickenpox was confirmed in the municipality of Silao, while in 2024 there were two deaths from this disease and one in 2021 .
