We tested Graviti, the flotation center in Lyon

Located in the 3rd and 6th arrondissements of Lyon, Graviti offers weightless floating sessions promising numerous benefits. The Lyon Capitale editorial team tested this concept for you.
Did you know that floating has positive effects on stress, pain relief, and even concentration? To expand access to these benefits, numerous floatation centers have opened in France, including two in Lyon. The principle is simple: simply sit in a salt-saturated pool and let yourself be carried away. Based on this model, Graviti has opened two locations in Lyon (3rd and 6th arrondissements). The floatation center offers a 1.5-hour session, either solo or with a partner, immersed in water four times saltier than the Dead Sea.
Filled with 500 tons of salt each, the flotation capsules contain 30 cm of water. Heated to 37 degrees, the water is at the same temperature as the human body and provides immediate relaxation. Curious, the Lyon Capitale editorial team tested these "flotation capsules" for you.
To get a feel for the concept, we visited the Graviti floatation center, located at 31 rue Ney in the 6th arrondissement of Lyon. Once there, we discovered a small but relaxing space. After swapping our sneakers for sandals and following a few explanations, we headed to the floatation room. While we chose the individual rooms for more peace and quiet, the experience can also be enjoyed as a couple in the "duo" room.
With music we'd chosen in advance playing in the background, we settled into the capsules. As soon as we entered the water, we immediately felt buoyant. No need to force ourselves; our bodies automatically lifted. Thanks to the small neck cushion provided, the position was pleasant and relaxing. While a small blue light illuminated the inside of the capsule, a button turned it off, leaving us in total darkness. Once in the dark, our bearings were blurred. Since the water temperature was the same as our body temperature, it was difficult to know which part of us was in the water and which part was not. Then, it was time for an hour of relaxation.

Once the hour is up, the relaxation room awaits us. Reclining in comfortable chairs, the experience continues with a herbal tea tasting. Finally, we head to the beauty room. There, a selection of products awaits us. Conditioner, makeup remover, creams, and a hairdryer—everything we need is there to continue our day in good conditions.

Although we didn't approach the experience with great serenity, we ultimately had a pleasant and soothing time. If the idea of being locked in these large capsules worried us, the height of the ceiling quickly dispelled this fear. As for the duration, we were afraid that the hour would seem long, but in the end it turned out to be very quick. We would have even liked more time to finish our nap. Another bonus for the beauty room and its products, despite its small size. Conclusion: the Graviti flotation center is perfect for relaxing and disconnecting from the outside world. You come out relaxed and lighter.
The price of the sessions varies from 49 to 109 euros, depending on the days and the duration of the experience.
