Road safety: driving in flip-flops, bare feet or bare chest, what are the risks?

In summer, it's obvious that you have to distinguish between taking the road for a long trip and going to get bread. But in both cases, it only takes a few seconds to find yourself in a bad situation. And the driver's equipment or activity shouldn't be the culprit.
In France, the law does not prohibit drivers from driving in flip-flops, thongs, or bare feet. Article R412-6 of the Highway Code specifies that "every driver must constantly be in a condition and position to conveniently and promptly perform all the maneuvers required of him." It is up to the police officer or gendarme to assess whether your behavior or clothing could constitute a danger.
If law enforcement considers your behavior to be dangerous, you will be subject to a Class 2 fixed fine. The fine is €35, reduced to €22 if you pay immediately. Penalties can include vehicle immobilization if you don't have a change of shoes. No points will be deducted from your driver's license.
However, tolerance isn't the same in all countries. In Spain, for example, driving in flip-flops is strictly prohibited and will earn you a €200 fine! Also, be aware that in the event of an accident, your insurance company may refuse to pay compensation if the accident is related to driving deemed "dangerous," i.e., driving in flip-flops or barefoot.
And since the law is open to interpretation, be aware that driving in 20cm heels can lead to the same penalties.
3 And shirtless, is it the same thing?Heat always when you hold us... We get out of the pool, we have to go get bread, we put on shorts and we stay shirtless or in a swimsuit top without taking the time to put on a t-shirt. Be aware that here again this falls under article R412-6 of the highway code and that if the officer considers that you are not properly equipped to drive this leads to a penalty.
This rule, which can be widely contested when driving a car, will be more difficult to challenge if you are riding a scooter or a two-wheeler, for obvious safety reasons. However, you will have been warned that in the event of sudden braking, the seat belt can burn bare skin...
