Live. Heatwave: Five departments on red alert, thunderstorms expected locally this afternoon

This Wednesday, France is preparing to experience exceptional heat across a large part of the country. Five departments have been placed on red heatwave alert by Météo-France. Follow the situation live.
The heatwave continues this Wednesday with 14 departments on red alert , including Aude, Isère, Rhône, Drôme and Ardèche.
On Tuesday, temperatures soared, peaking at 42.9°C in Saint-Laurent-du-Pape (Ardèche) and Saint-Come-d'Olt (Aveyron). In Romans-sur-Isère and Carcassonne, temperatures also exceeded 42°C, while Dijon and Lyon reached close to 40°C.
This 51st heat wave recorded in France since 1947 could continue until next week .
