The Ministry of Health reveals the only health insurance companies that remain authorized to operate in Colombia in 2025.

Colombia is facing a complex situation in its health system, as health service providers have declared millions in debt to their finances through 2025 , according to experts.
In fact, Health Promotion Entities (EPS), which include hospitals, clinics, and pharmaceutical companies, have declared a difficult outlook for patient care and medication delivery, as reported by media outlets such as Portafolio.
In a report published by the Health Insurance Operations Subdirectorate on June 5, 2025, the health service providers that are authorized to continue their operations in 2025 are classified.

In a press release, Health Superintendent Helver Giovanni Rubiano García addressed the document published by the National Government on the financial status of the EPSs.
Clarifying that "it is necessary to reflect, without dispassion and with certainty in the data, on whether what has been happening in the health system for more than twenty years is a lack of resources or a lack of control in the use of resources."
These were the statements made by the national government official regarding the situation the country is experiencing.

The superintendent called on the EPSs to implement greater controls on the services they provide to citizens and to clarify the overcharges reported in their accounts.
"What is being recorded is what was provided, and the EPS cannot continue the process without first verifying and auditing it." Statement by Superintendent Helver Giovanni Rubiano García.
The press release, published on July 8, 2025, on the official website of the Superintendency of Health, was issued after an internal meeting.
Topics to improve access to medicines and other essential items for the country's citizens were also discussed.
