Bacteria can cause diarrhea: Lidl recalls sausage

Lidl customers in eight German states are being asked to return a certain sausage product. It may contain pathogenic E. coli bacteria.
Tillman's Convenience GmbH is recalling the product "Zimbo Fresh Ham and Onion Mettwurst Classic, 200 grams" with a use-by date of June 25, 2025. E. coli bacteria, which could cause diarrhea , have been detected in the sausage, the company announced.
The article with the batch number 38202198 and the veterinary mark DE NW 20028 EG was sold at Lidl in the federal states of Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Berlin, Brandenburg, Hesse, Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate.
The sausage can be returned to all Lidl stores. The purchase price will be refunded, even without a receipt, according to Tillman's. Other items are not affected by the recall.
