Rümeysa Öztürk decision from the USA!

The decision to transfer Rümeysa Öztürk, a Turkish doctoral student who was detained in the US for supporting Palestine, from the state of Louisiana to the state of Vermont has been suspended by the Court of Appeals.
The Second Circuit Court of Appeals announced that it has issued a temporary stay on Öztürk’s transfer to Vermont, pending review and decision, following the US government’s objection. The appeals order asked government lawyers who filed a petition to stay the Vermont Federal District Court’s transfer order to submit reasoned objections by May 1 at the latest and to prepare their defense files for the hearing to be held on May 6.
Öztürk's legal team responded to the Court of Appeals' decision by saying, "Rümeysa Öztürk should never have been arrested or detained. We are ready to defend her case in the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and will not give up the fight until she is released."
