Murat Ongun's wife Gözdem Ongun's statement revealed

Among those detained as part of the second wave of operations against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), was Zeynep Gözdem Ongun, the wife of Murat Ongun, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of IMM Media Inc., who was also detained as part of the same investigation. Gözdem Ongun was sent to the courthouse today after procedures at the police station. Ongun's statement to the police has emerged.
HE HAD TO EXPLAIN HIS SON'S EID ALLOWANCE
Ongun, in response to a question about the source of the 83,700 TL, 227 dollars, 31,050 euros and 1,640 pounds found in her house, said, "13,800 TL is my son's holiday allowance. The rest is borrowed money that I borrowed from others because my husband is under arrest and that I kept to use when needed. My son recently had school fees due. It is normal to have this amount of money at home for this reason. I have been working for years and earning regular money. I am personally disturbed by the fact that the accounts of my company, which I founded and developed with my own efforts, have been looked into in such minute detail. I believe that action has been taken against me as part of this investigation because of my husband Murat Ongun."
"I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE TENDER"
Ongun, who also responded to the claims that there were irregularities in the outdoor advertising tenders of the IMM, said that the 3 million 717 thousand 400 liras she paid for the villa they rented annually were given to her by her husband Murat Ongun in cash. Ongun said, "I have never worked as a manager or in any other capacity at the IMM. I have never received any tenders through my company. I have no information about the tenders." Gözdem Ongun was also asked about the statement of the landlord. Ongun, who accepted that she paid the rent, said, "It is true. We rented the duplex apartment where I currently reside for a total of 3 million 717 thousand 400 TL for one year. My husband gave me this rent in cash. I deposited this money into my account and sent it to the landlord from there."
Ongun, who was also asked about money transactions in bank accounts, said, "Individuals or companies may have purchased products from my company. The companies in question may have been owned by my personal customers, but I do not remember clearly at the moment."
