Innocent-looking death hazard: Protein powders hit your organs! Don't lose your life for the sake of muscle... Warnings from experts

The widespread use of protein powder among young people poses serious health risks. Although protein powders, which are preferred for bodybuilding and muscle building purposes, seem innocent in appearance, some of the ingredients they contain and their misuse can lead to serious health problems.
Gastroenterology Specialist Prof. Dr. Vedat Göral drew attention to the fact that unhealthy use of protein powders and the harmful compounds they contain can cause serious health problems such as liver failure, kidney problems, and heart diseases. He said that especially young people's unconscious and excessive use of such supplements can cause irreversible damage to the body.
Prof. Dr. Göral, who stated that protein powders are not innocent, said, "We see that the use of protein powder is increasing among young people both in our country and abroad, especially in Europe and America. Young people generally turn to protein powders in order to increase muscle mass and shape their bodies. However, although protein powders provide a visually fitter appearance, they are not actually innocent. Protein powders consist of milk, eggs, soy and whey proteins. However, in addition to these, toxic substances and some anabolic steroids can also be added. While these substances increase muscle mass in the body, they impair liver function and can lead to serious health problems such as liver failure, cirrhosis and even liver transplantation."
Stating that such supplements can lead to serious health problems, Prof. Dr. Göral said, "Although the same effects are not seen in every young person, we know that protein powders, especially when used with alcohol, increase the risk. In addition, protein powders can be extremely dangerous for people with underlying problems such as liver disease or fatty liver. Such products can damage not only the liver but also kidney functions. In addition, they can increase muscle mass in the heart and lead to heart failure. In fact, some young people have even died due to such supplements."
WHAT HAPPENS IF PROTEIN POWDERS ARE USED CONTINUOUSLY?Prof. Dr. Göral drew attention to the fact that excessive and continuous use of protein powders can pose great dangers. Prof. Dr. Göral said, "Protein powders can be taken from time to time and in appropriate doses. However, it is absolutely necessary to consult a physician on this matter. Products purchased from sellers in shopping malls can often pose serious health risks. Excessive use of such products can lead to liver failure, heart disease and kidney problems. My suggestion for young people is to consume natural foods. Organic products do not harm our bodies because our bodies are designed for organic products. Consuming 3-4 eggs, yogurt, cheese, fish and meat a day will be much healthier for the body."
Prof. Dr. Göral gave important warnings to young people about healthy living and nutrition: "We should always stick to naturalness. Protein powders can cause toxic effects in our bodies and disrupt their balance. Young people can strengthen their bodies with organic foods and protect their health in the long term."
