Unintentional exposure in the Radiotherapy Department of the Oncology Center in Bydgoszcz. A committee was established

- A committee has been established to investigate the occurrence of unintentional exposure at the Radiotherapy Department of the Oncology Center in Bydgoszcz
- It will be headed by the chairman, prof. dr hab. n. med. Krzysztof Składowski, national consultant in the field of oncological radiotherapy.
- The order comes into force on the day following the date of announcement, i.e. June 13.
In accordance with the minister’s order , a commission was appointed to investigate the circumstances and causes of the unintentional exposure at the Radiotherapy Department of the Oncology Centre in Bydgoszcz.
The Commission consists of:
- chairman of the committee – prof. dr hab. n. med. Krzysztof Składowski , national consultant in the field of oncological radiotherapy;
- committee members:
a) prof. dr hab. n. med. Rafał Dziadziuszko , Clinic of Oncology and Radiotherapy, University Clinical Centre in Gdańsk – representative of the Minister of Health,
b) Aleksandra Klimas, Ph.D. , Zagłębie Oncology Center in Dąbrowa Górnicza – representative of the Minister of Health,
c) Agnieszka Jaworska-Sobczak – representative of the President of the National Atomic Energy Agency.
The Commission’s tasks include investigating the circumstances and causes of unintentional exposure at the Radiotherapy Department of the Oncology Centre in Bydgoszcz, including:
- verification of the correctness of the actions taken at the Radiotherapy Department of the Oncology Center in Bydgoszcz, as a result of the explanatory proceedings
- determining the cause and circumstances of the occurrence of unintentional exposure in the Radiotherapy Department of the Oncology Center in Bydgoszcz.
The Committee holds meetings at a location designated by the Committee Chairman or remotely using means of distance communication.
The Committee Chair shall notify the Committee of the date and place of the meeting and shall forward the materials that are the subject of the Committee meeting to the Committee members in sufficient time to allow them to become familiar with them, but no later than 3 days before the scheduled date of the meeting.
There is no remuneration for participation in the work of the committee. However, in connection with participation in the work of the committee taking place outside the place of residence, individuals are entitled to reimbursement of travel costs within the country, in the amount and on the terms specified in the regulation of the Minister of Labor and Social Policy of January 29, 2013 on receivables due to an employee employed in a state or local government budgetary unit for business travel.
These costs are covered from the state budget, from Part 46 – Health, Division 851 – Health Protection, Chapter 85195 – Other Activities, from funds at the disposal of the Department of Public Health in the Ministry of Health.
The organizational and technical support for the commission is provided by the Department of Public Health in the Ministry of Health.
The Commission will end its activity after submitting its findings to the National Center for Radiological Protection in Health Care. The order comes into effect on the day following the date of announcement, i.e. June 13.
