Poor oral health may be linked to chronic health problems

Poor dental health could be a harbinger of chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes and heart disease, a new study warns.
People with missing teeth, coated tongues and other signs of poor oral health were also more likely to have high blood sugar, high cholesterol and decreased kidney function , researchers reported in a recent issue of the Journal of Oral Rehabilitation.
