"This step represents an important act, of which the Simg, Italian family doctors, specialists and patient associations felt the need - he underlines Gerardo Medea, national councilor and head of the Simg research -. This decision on the one hand favors the real care of people with diabetes by doctors general medicine and on the other hand simplifies access to care for serious and important pathologies, since it will no longer be necessary resort to specialist visits for prescription and renewal of the therapeutic plans. In this way it was also intended recognize the clinical value of this category of drugs in the prevention and treatment of complications of these pathologies, promoting their use as early as possible".
