Disability: 13,591 introductory certificates sent, data from the first 9 provinces

In the 9 provinces where the experimentation on disability reform is underway, 12,204 new introductory certificates were presented by doctors for the verification of invalidity in the months of January and February. On the podium Salerno (2,946 applications), Brescia (2,384) and Perugia (1,701) followed by all the others: Florence (1,464), Forlì-Cesena (950), Catanzaro (942), Sassari (817), Frosinone (809) and Trieste (391). A figure that grew in the first 4 days of March, which include a Saturday and a Sunday, with the presentation of 1,387 new certificates in the nine provinces involved in the experimentation for a total that reaches 13,591 overall applications.

The difficulties related to the implementation of the reform throughout the country have not disappeared, but the minister for disabilities, Alessandra Locatelli, is still satisfied. “The reform – she underlines – comes into force progressively to accompany the radical change in approach for all those who deal with the care of the person with disabilities. I wanted the experimentation precisely to guarantee the possibility of improvement and overcoming the critical issues even during implementation and so we are proceeding”.

In the nine provinces where the reform has already started, almost 2 thousand people have been trained up to this point. Between November and December 2024, 55 training days were held for a total of 390 hours in the classroom, involving all the territories of the experiment.

The training days were aimed at representatives of the Municipalities and of the territorial social spheres and of the Regions, social workers, doctors and other health workers, teachers who deal with school inclusion, professors of the universities and institutes of higher education, representatives of targeted placement, of INPS and INAIL.

Two 6-hour webinars are scheduled for March 25 and 27 for a recall on training in basic assessment and multidimensional assessment for the development of the life project.
