Andos and Aoaf petition to restore breast surgery in Tolmezzo

From the integrated operation of a single breast surgery team across two different hospitals, to the centralization of activity in the San Daniele del Friuli hospital alone, to the detriment of Tolmezzo, due to the failure to reach the 135 procedures per year required by the National Agency for Regional Health Services criteria. The reorganization began last October, breaking a system that currently forces patients from Carnia and Alto Friuli to travel to San Daniele, further complicating the logistical challenges of carrying out anesthesiology visits and surgeries.

The Tolmezzo committee of ANDOS and the Alto Friuli Oncology Association have supported them, launching a petition urging the institutions to establish a multi-site breast care unit that would once again involve Tolmezzo Hospital, guaranteeing the citizens of the mountain area convenient access to care.
