Patient's partner throws dozen knives at nurse, leaving hospital staff 'traumatized'

According to a representative of the SUD-Santé Sociaux 76-27 union interviewed by our colleagues, no caregivers were physically injured, but members of the medical team are deeply shocked.
The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m., when an argument broke out between a patient's relatives. A nurse initially attempted to intervene, but tensions quickly escalated, with the visitors exchanging blows. The nurse then intervened more firmly.
“10 to 15 knives”It was at this point that the patient's wife grabbed several knives—retrieved either from a break room or from a tray in the hallway—and threw them at the caregiver. According to the union, "10 to 15 knives" were thrown.
The scene caused panic in the ward, where at least two nurses and two nursing assistants were present. One of them brought the patients to safety before locking herself in a room. Given the seriousness of the situation, the police then intervened with protective shields.
