Haguenau: Community medicine is organizing to improve access to care in the region

Outside the hospital walls, there was a lack of a unifying structure to coordinate healthcare professionals from the inter-municipalities of Haguenau, Basse-Zorn, and the Rhineland. Since receiving its first funding package last November, the Au fil des rivières territorial professional health community (CPTS) has been working to fill this gap by bringing together community healthcare professionals in a region that has some 1,200 such professionals (including 120 general practitioners). Based in the Bischwiller hospital, it can count on the support of a coordinator, a project manager, and a core group of around twenty practitioners.
