Blanquefort Municipal Council: Opening of the Caychac health center expected for September

The Blanquefort municipal council unanimously approved the opening of a municipal branch of the Cynthia Fleury health center in Saint-Médard-en-Jalles in Caychac. The opening is scheduled for September, subject to finding two general practitioners.
On Monday, June 23, the municipal council unanimously approved the opening of a municipal branch of the Cynthia Fleury Health Center in Saint-Médard-en-Jalles in Caychac, replacing the local mission. A partnership agreement will be signed with the City of Saint-Médard-en-Jalles.
Recruitment of doctorsDevelopment work costing €100,000 (excluding VAT) to create offices is underway. "The recruitment of doctors has begun," added Véronique Ferreira, the mayor, "and we hope to open this health center in September, subject, of course, to finding two general practitioners to start with. The good news is that following a technical study that confirms "our significant medical loss" so as not to lead to desertification, the ARS (Regional Health Agency) has approved thirty opening hours."
Management fees of €6,960 for 2025, as well as an exceptional investment grant (purchase of medical equipment, telephony, and IT) are required. The municipality will also provide utilities and a balancing grant if necessary.
An operating council was created with the mayor and city councilor Sylvie Lacosse-Terrin. A general practitioner herself, she spoke highly of this system. "It's a general problem, and private medicine is going through difficult times. It's a societal shift, and young doctors are no longer attracted to facilities. The idea is to offer every patient the opportunity to see a doctor, and I'm convinced it's a good solution, but not the only one, of course... I'm happy and proud to be part of this creation."
Rural leaseOn the other hand, the assembly adopted the renewal of the rural and environmental lease in favor of Julien Sarrès and his company La Ferme de Majolan for a period of nine years and an annual rent of €12,434.22 including the rental of the buildings and agricultural land located on rue Ransinangue on the Vacherie site and route de Pontac.
The farm has evolved, in addition to sheep farming, there are also goat and laying hen farms.
