The tiger mosquito is now well established in Burgundy-Franche-Comté. Easily recognizable by its black and white stripes, this mosquito, active mainly between May and November, can transmit viruses such as dengue, chikungunya, and Zika. It represents a public health issue.

Faced with this situation, the local health contract of Pays Beaunois, in partnership with the City of Beaune, the regional health agency (ARS) and the Promotion Santé association, is organizing a public information meeting open to all, Monday, June 30 at 6:30 p.m. at the Palais des Congrès, at 19, avenue Charles-de-Gaulle in Beaune.

The aim of this meeting is to better understand the risks linked to the proliferation of the tiger mosquito, to learn how to identify it, and above all to learn the simple and effective actions to limit its development, in particular by eliminating stagnant water around the home.

One of the main prevention tools is to eliminate stagnant water in gardens, on balconies, or in outdoor equipment (pots, saucers, uncovered water collectors, etc.), which are prime breeding grounds for the tiger mosquito. This meeting will be an opportunity to ask your questions and receive practical advice.
