An investigation is currently underway at the Strasbourg University Hospital Institute. The IHU is suspected of canceling tests—sometimes at the very last minute—on cancer patients and prioritizing research on pigs... for reasons that may have been financial.

Was there or was there not a trade-off between human and experimental procedures at the IHU? Was the health of cancer patients endangered? These are the questions that investigators from the General Inspectorate of Social Affairs (IGAS) and the General Inspectorate of Education, Sport and Research (IGESR), who arrived in Strasbourg on July 1, will have to answer.
