The Santa Fe Foundation will no longer provide its services to teachers affiliated with Fiduprevisora.

Starting July 31, the Santa Fe de Bogotá Foundation will no longer provide services to teachers in the Magisterium . This was announced in a statement, explaining that this is due to the termination of its contract with Fiduciaria La Previsora on that date.
"We understand the inconvenience this may cause and recommend that you contact your insurance company directly to receive appropriate guidance regarding the continued healthcare you may require," the foundation explains to the members of the Magisterium.
Additionally, they explain that for appointments already scheduled after July 31, Fiduprevisora members can receive advice through the foundation's contact channels. These are the call center at 4824488 or the website www.fundacionsantafedebogota.com.
The foundation reiterates its commitment to patients "to provide comprehensive and complete medical care, always guaranteeing excellence, superior health outcomes, and the commitment that characterizes us."
For its part, given this situation, Fiduprevisora assures that new contracts for the entire service network in the country are expected by August 1.

This adds to the critical situation facing teachers' health. In addition to financial problems, one year after the start of the new model, teachers continue to experience serious problems with various services, such as medication delivery, appointment scheduling, and medical procedures, among others. This has led to the system receiving one of the highest number of complaints per 100,000 inhabitants, according to data from the Health Superintendency.
It's worth remembering that the new teacher health model began operating on May 1, 2024. It was presented by the Fomag board of directors—composed of the Ministries of Education, Finance, and Labor, along with Fecode—as a consensual model that would solve the main problems of the previous operation.
With this decision, Fiduprevisora assumed the contracting and direct payment of each IPS responsible for caring for teachers across the country. Previously, the entity contracted with 10 large operators, who in turn made payments to the IPS. However, these intermediaries frequently delayed payments or failed to guarantee the contracting of medical centers, leading to sanctions and investigations for possible corruption cases.
Without the intermediation of health providers, the promise was to guarantee the contracting and provision of health services. However, at the start of operations, Fiduprevisora had only contracted around 2,100 health insurance providers, far from the 11,000 that Fomag had announced. Currently, the number of health insurance providers serving teachers exceeds 3,000, leaving a significant gap in coverage.
