Ramón García: "At 63, you should have your MOT done annually."
According to tradition, summer doesn't begin until the heifer from the " Grand Prix " shows off her plush horns on TVE. Joining her is Ramón García , this time accompanied by Lalachus and Ángela Fernández . This edition can also be followed—immediately after its prime-time broadcast on La 1—on Prime Video.
The endearing Ramontxu has also been hosting "En compañía" (In Company) daily on the Castilla-La Mancha regional channel for nine years—2,300 live programs. It is, as the presenter asserts, "a public service on public television, done with heart."
For that work rate, like any true Bilbao native, he can handle anything, provided he takes good care of himself. "I try to have a good breakfast every day, with some toast with jam and a piece of fruit." Any tips for staying in shape? "Every day, I walk a little on the treadmill and do my exercises. You know, cholesterol, triglycerides... One way to do it is every day, between half an hour and 45 minutes," he says.
Regarding those who count the calories in their food, he assures us that "I've never counted calories. I think eating should be a space of freedom, and if we force ourselves to do that, I think even lunch would make me feel bad." Regarding the current trend of intermittent fasting, he is blunt: "I don't agree. Well, if a dietitian prescribes it, yes, but people who do it on their own, I think it's a mistake. Our Ramontxu is very concerned about his health: "Annual check-ups: cardiology, colon... At 63, you have to do everything, the MOT. I always get annual blood tests."
On any illnesses that haunt her: "None. Maybe I think about and am a little afraid of those that cause pain and a difficult ending. That scares me a little, yes." Her weak spot? "Inherited, congenital: hypertension , cholesterol, triglycerides, a little bit of sugar. Genetics sometimes leads you to those things."
