Health authorities warn against counterfeiting this injectable hyaluronic acid.

The Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (AEMPS) reported this Friday on the detection of counterfeits of Juvederm Ultra 4, a series of units of the filler implant marketed by Abbvie Spain .

The investigation has confirmed that this fake implant was purchased through the website: https://www.instagram.com/botoxfillergenuine/ . They add that it is presented through batch number 1000565497, with code 96667JR , with a manufacturing date of February 2025 and an expiration date of January 2027. Although they have the same batch number and code, the original product has a manufacturing date of January 2023, and its expiration date is December 2024.

The AEMPS (Spanish Agency for Industrial Development) has recommended that healthcare professionals who possess this counterfeit product remove and refrain from using it. They should also report it by email to [email protected], including the details of the company that supplied the product.

Distributors must verify these units and, if they turn out to be counterfeit products, they must refrain from distributing them and inform the aforementioned email address, including the details of the company that supplied the product.

Juvéderm Ultra 4 is an injectable filler with a high concentration of hyaluronic acid. It has been specifically developed to treat deep skin depressions and to volumize and correct deeper facial lines and wrinkles around the nose and mouth.
