Colsubsidio issues a statement on the termination of the drug dispensing contract with Famisanar and points out payment defaults.

After EPS Famisanar announced the termination of its prescription dispensing contract with Droguerías Colsubsidio, the family-owned corporation issued a statement confirming that it has begun a transition process that will extend until September 1, 2025.
The Famisanar EPS reported, in a statement, that the decision to terminate the drug dispensing contract with Droguerías Colsubsidio was made by mutual agreement.
For its part, Colsubsidio reported that on June 20, it received an official notification from the EPS informing it of the termination of the contract as of August 1, 2025.
"In an effort to minimize impact, we will begin a transition process that will extend until September 1, 2025," Droguerías Colsubsidio stated in the statement.
Likewise, Droguerías Colsubsidio addressed the debt that EPS Famisanar owes the corporation, which, as of June 30, 2025, amounts to $781.201 billion. Of that total, $208.707 billion corresponds to the dispensing of medications and $572.494 billion corresponds to outstanding payments for the provision of health services in Colsubsidio's network of clinics and outpatient medical centers.

"During the term of this contract, we have acted with commitment, transparency, and responsibility in managing the allocated resources and, to the extent possible, ensuring that each patient has access to their medications in a timely manner ," the statement said.
Meanwhile, Droguerías Colsubsidio stated that it had repeatedly warned the EPS Famisanar about the risk of shortages in the dispensing of medications due to a lack of sufficient inventory to meet user demand. This situation, the entity explained, was a direct consequence of the EPS's failure to make timely payments.
"We regret the difficulties this situation represents for users and reiterate our commitment to continue contributing to the improvement of the country's healthcare system by working hand in hand with the relevant entities and other stakeholders," the statement concludes.
