Claudia Sheinbaum promises a 100% improvement to the health system.

In light of the irregularities that occurred in the Consolidated Purchase of Medicines, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo stated that it was not an easy decision to re-tender the purchase of medicines that presented irregularities due to the impact on supply , but she noted that her government could not endorse acts of corruption.

At a morning press conference, the federal president reiterated that the healthcare system promoted by her government will operate at 100% capacity for the benefit of the entire population.

"It's a health system because it's not a program; it's a health system that will work 100%, because it will work. In medicines, we did have problems in the bidding process, but the decision between having a scheme where pharmaceutical companies that bid in collusion with some officials will win overpriced bids or ending that, and putting the tender out again was not an easy decision due to the supply, but we cannot endorse an act of corruption," he mentioned.

"Then we work. I meet (with the members of the Health Cabinet) every Monday for two hours, sometimes three hours, following up on each issue : 'What happened with the operating room here?', 'What happened with the medication?', 'Is this problem resolved?'" he added.

On June 21, it was revealed that due to irregularities in the 2025-2026 consolidated drug purchase, the Anti-Corruption and Good Government Secretariat is investigating at least 13 administrative offenses related to alleged corruption at the Biological and Reagent Laboratories of Mexico (Birmex).
