World record walk for children's health today in Braunschweig

On Saturday, July 5, 2025, Braunschweig's Bürgerpark will once again be transformed into a massive charity arena. Thousands of participants in the "walk4help" event aim to run as many kilometers as possible to raise funds for children's and environmental projects, while simultaneously surpassing the previous world record of 52,482 kilometers from the inaugural year in 2019.
The 6-kilometer charity walk is themed around the four elements. Each route has prominent sponsors:
- Water – Swimming legend Franziska van Almsick
- Earth – Ski idol Felix Neureuther
- Air – Model Lilly Becker, decathlon icon Jürgen Hingsen and marathon runner Asha Noppeney
- Fire – former ski racer Christian Neureuther
Together, they fire the starting signal at 10 a.m. The day begins at 9:50 a.m. with a stage introduction and ends around 7 p.m. with the announcement of the results by TV presenter Wolfram Kons. In between, there are interviews, show acts, cheerleading performances, and a family celebration for the entire region.
Robert Lübenoff, co-founder of United Kids Foundations and walk4help, says: "Walk4help isn't just a charity run—it's a movement that changes the future of rising generations. Every step we take is a step for the health of our children and our planet. Everyone can join in and show: Together we can make the impossible possible."
All entry fees and donations (after tax) will go to up to 20 projects of the "Healthy Earth. Healthy Children" initiative, which focuses on the interrelationships between climate change, environmental protection, and children's health. The BRAWO GROUP, initiator and organizer of the event, covers all organizational costs.
This year’s “walk4help” also marks the 20th anniversary of the children’s network united-kids-foundations.de . Starting at 6 p.m., there will be a big celebration on the BRAWO OPEN stage—hopefully with a newly confirmed new world record.
- Register online (choose individual or group ticket) at united-kids-foundations.de .
- Set your preferred routes and start times – multiple starts are permitted.
- Show up at Bürgerpark on July 5th, collect kilometers, have fun and do good.
Whether families, sports clubs, or companies: every step counts – for a healthy planet and healthy children. Anyone who wants to participate should register early and, if possible, raise additional donations. This increases the collective chance of breaking the previous record and pushing the donation barometer to record highs.
